Tytherington Club
Last week saw the opening of our new clinic at the Tytherington Club in Macclesfield. Angie Jackson and Amanda Knight will both be holding clinics in the newly refurbished Aura Health and Beauty Spa for the members and local residents. They are working closely with golf professional Anthony Haste to develop the fitness of the golf members and ensure they stay injury free to enjoy the season. Programmes can be implemented in conjunction with the fitness instructors to ensure that you are focusing on optimum areas for your body.

BUPA update
I am delighted to be able to announce after six months of uncertainty that we have been maintained on the BUPA therapist’s network and will be able to continue to offer the same high standard of care to patients with BUPA healthcare. I am extremely grateful to all those patients and consultants who wrote such supportive letters and recommendations which I feel sure strengthened our case.
Physiofit brand is launched
After starting up her Physiotherapy practise from her home some 17 years ago, Angie Jackson has decided to rebrand the name of the business from Angela Jackson & Associates to Physiofit. “The business now has long since moved away from being a one man band and I wanted a brand that reflected the wonderful team of practitioners I now have working along side me. I am excited about the logo that has been designed and feel it gives us a more contemporary and professional image.
Tanya embarks on an MSc
Tanya McKenzie who joined us from South Africa last year is fast establishing her reputation as a highly skilled and educated physiotherapist, but not content to relax after her move, she has already enrolled on the MSc Orthopaedic Management course at Salford working closely with other doctors, physios and surgeons with a special interest in the field of sports medicine.
Shiatsu
We are delighted to welcome Vi Adamski to our team of complimentary therapists. Vi has trained in Brussels and London as a Shiatsu Practitioner and has recently begun to offer her relaxing and intense hands on stretching and massage techniques at our clinic in Alderley Edge. The therapist applies pressure with her thumbs, palms and arms to specific areas of the client’s body that have been determined during an assessment period prior to the massage session.
Pressure is applied along the Chinese meridians to unblock energy blockages and reintroduce the optimal flow of ki. The benefits are excellent ranging from deep muscle and tissue relaxation, stress management, reduction of blood pressure and it reduces mental anxieties and creates a sensation of calm.
Angie Jackson in welcoming Vi on board says “With the current economic climate and subsequent increase stress levels; Vi will be a great asset to our team and will be popular with many of our clients who need to find ways of reducing tension”.
Jean gains recognition for her expertise in Headaches
After extensive studying with internationally renowned physiotherapist Dean Watson, founder of the Headache and Migraine Clinic in Australia, Jean has been awarded the status that allows her to be listed on Dean’s web site as an advanced practitioner.
Dean’s approach in Europe and the United Kingdom has become known as the ‘Watson Headache Approach’. Practitioners of headacheandmigraine.com have completed not only the basic two-day course but after at least six months of experience using the techniques it is followed by a one-day advanced course.
Jean has had excellent success at identifying when a headache has origins in the neck and through manual techniques easing and alleviating the patient’s often long term headaches.
