Posturefit for Work
Physiofit For Work is an Occupational Health physiotherapy service provided by our Chartered Physiotherapists, with postgraduate experience and qualifications in Occupational Health and Ergonomics.
Work related musculoskeletal disorders are the most common form of work ill health and affect 1 million people in Great Britain alone each year. Problems include back pain, work related neck pain and upper limb disorders including repetitive strain injuries.
Physiofit for Work may help by reducing ill health and preventing further injury by working with businesses and individuals to create comfortable and safe work enviroments. We can offer comprehensive Display Screen Equipment assessments allowing businesses to meet current legislation. The regulations require employers to assess the workstations of employees whose work involves the use of Display Screen Equipment for 1 hour or more of continuous use.
With the advent of many employees working from home it is particularly important that consideration is given to the work station arrangements in home office enviroments. Use of laptops/Blackberry’s has expanded the diversity of locations that people now work from and should be risk assessed accordingly.
What do we offer?
- DSE Assessments. To include task / job analysis, HSE compliance check and
any remedial actions required. - Workplace Assessment in office and/or home enviroments including:
- To arrange the workstation to fit the body shape and size of individuals and the tasks they perform
- To give advice regarding comfort breaks and workstation exercises
- Report of findings and recommendations including use of ergonomic equipment
- Risk reduction of manual handling and upper limb related disorders in the
workplace through risk assessments and recommended precautions. - Return to work and fitness for work assessments.
- Clinic based physiotherapy assessment and advice for acute conditions and
preventative “Posture MOT’s ” with personalised exercise programmes.
